Users connecting with standard SIP extensions are generally connected to our Asterisk environment.

Connectivity is through SIP and IAX trunks to our external networks plus SIP to some internal PBXs and also to our Cisco 2921 ISR which provides ISDN connectivity to some of our PBXs.

Asterisk is part of the PhoneNet Coordinated Dialing Plan (CDP) and uses our standard dialing procedures.

Information on how to connect your device to Asterisk is provided on account creation. If you no longer have this information you will need to contact technical support on 791-1100 through the Service Desk.

Voicemail

Asterisk uses Comedian Mail for voicemail. If you have requested voicemail on your phone you will first need to activate it by dialing *01 which will send calls to voicemail if you do not answer or your extension is busy or otherwise unavailable.

By default the delay before a call is sent to voicemail is 20 seconds but you may change this by dialing *66XX where XX is a value, eg: *6630 will send calls to voicemail if you do not answer after 30 seconds.

To access your mailbox, press the messages button on your phone or dial *17 from your own phone. If calling from another phone dial 266-9999.

You may also reach your mailbox from the PSTN or other community networks by dialing one of our inbound IVR numbers and selecting option 6 and then 1.
